Chinese Company Invests $80 Million in New Glass Plant in Uzbekistan

A Chinese enterprise is set to invest $80 million to establish a large-scale glass production plant in Kashkadarya Region, Uzbekistan, marking another milestone in the growing industrial cooperation between China and Central Asia. The project is expected to create over 600 long-term jobs and significantly boost the region’s manufacturing capacity.According to the regional government’s press service, Governor Murodjon Azimov recently met with foreign investors to discuss industrial development and the construction of new production facilities.The investment project will be implemented in two phases, covering a total of 10 hectares of land. It will include a 50,000-square-meter production facility and a 2,000-square-meter quartz sand purification line, ensuring high-quality raw materials for the production of float and architectural glass.Once fully operational, the plant is expected to produce up to 300,000 tons of glass products per month. The majority of the output will serve domestic demand, while a significant portion will be exported to Central Asian countries and Afghanistan.Governor Azimov emphasized the importance of the project, assuring that local authorities will provide full support to ensure its stable operation. He added that the launch of the new facility will strengthen the region’s industrial potential and contribute to sustainable economic growth.Thanks to ongoing economic reforms and pro-investment policies, the number of Chinese companies operating in Kashkadarya has already exceeded 80 enterprises, driving industrial diversification and technological advancement in the region.
