Why do IG units have sealant leakage?

Sealant leakage is usually caused by incorrect sealant temperature or viscosity, poor spacer bending accuracy, glass size deviation, surface contamination, or unstable 2K sealing ratios.

How can I prevent sealant leakage in insulated glass units?

Maintain correct sealant temperature, ensure precise spacer bending, keep glass surfaces clean, use stable A/B sealant ratios, and consider using an automatic sealing robot for consistent quality.

Can equipment problems cause IG sealant leakage?

Yes. Butyl extruder temperature errors, 2K sealant mixing issues, worn nozzles, and inconsistent machine pressure can all lead to poor sealing performance and leakage.

Does manual sealing increase the risk of leakage?

Manual sealing often leads to uneven sealant lines and inconsistent corner filling. Using an automatic IG sealing robot significantly reduces leakage and improves product stability.

What is the best long-term solution for reducing IG sealant defects?

Investing in automated equipment—such as an IG sealing robot, automatic spacer bending machine, and calibrated 2K sealant pump—offers the most consistent and long-term solution to eliminate sealing problems.

On the third day of the exhibition, our team is available to discuss insulating glass production requirements, equipment configurations and factory automation with visitors planning new projects or upgrading existing facilities.

Solutions for More Efficient Insulating Glass Manufacturing

LIJIANG GLASS focuses on intelligent insulating glass equipment and integrated glass processing solutions. Visitors can speak with our team about automatic insulating glass production lines, glass washing and pressing systems, argon gas filling, spacer processing and automatic sealing.

For manufacturers working with oversized glass, our JUMBO MAX solutions address large-format insulating glass production requirements. Customers are welcome to share their maximum glass dimensions, glass configurations and target output to discuss a suitable production solution.

From Individual Equipment to Integrated Production Planning

Selecting glass machinery involves more than comparing individual machine specifications. Production capacity, factory layout, material handling and coordination between processes all influence daily operation.

LIJIANG GLASS works with customers to assess these requirements and develop equipment configurations suited to their production goals. Whether you are establishing a new insulating glass factory or expanding an existing line, our team is ready to discuss your project.
