Do you believe it? Saudi Arabia “wants” to build a mirage -- The NEOM (Saudi New Future City).

Recently, LIJIANG Glass learned about the latest construction progress video of NEOM (Saudi New Future City) through GA Global Architecture. The video shows that this super project is developing by leaps and bounds. With the support of large-scale investment and market-leading partners as well as talents from more than 90 countries, the NEOM project has more than 60,000 workers stationed at the construction site and is rapidly advancing the construction of The Line, Trojena, Sindalah, and Oxagon areas within the project. The video shows that major infrastructure projects such as roads, utilities, and hospitals have been completed in these areas.

In addition to this, the video also shows the world's largest green hydrogen plant under construction, which will be operational in 2026 under NEOM Green Hydrogen Company.

Other features and programs mentioned in the video include NEOM’s new initiatives in social and public infrastructure, focusing on international standards related to taxation, regulatory environment, and commercial law, allowing 13% of world trade to pass through the nearby Red Sea. This will take connectivity to the next level and occupy a strategic position at the crossroads of global trade.

NEOM (Saudi New Future City) is a new industrial and commercial city located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, adjacent to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba, and close to the maritime trade route via the Suez Canal. The project was proposed and promoted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who hoped to create an architectural marvel as iconic and timeless as the Egyptian pyramids.

The project covers an area of 26,500 square kilometers and consists of four parts: The Line, Trojena, Sindalah, and Oxagon. It is expected to cost approximately US$1 trillion. NEOM New City will focus on nine major industries, including energy and water, biotechnology, food, advanced manufacturing, and entertainment, and will rely entirely on new energy sources in the future.

As Saudi Arabia’s future city, the Neom project carries an ambitious vision to achieve a new, sustainable urban model through technological innovation, economic diversification, sustainability, and social change.

The Neom project plan includes a total of 10 major areas, including The Line (a 170-kilometer linear city), Oxagon (a port city designed as an octagon), Sindalah (an island resort), and Epicon (a tourist destination), consisting of two jagged skyscrapers designed by 10Design, offering luxury residences and resorts), Leyja (a sustainable tourism destination set in a natural valley).
The latest destination, Epicon, is the sixth of the 10 areas announced by Neom. It will be built on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba in northwest Saudi Arabia. The entire project consists of two buildings. It is composed of jagged skyscrapers, one is 225 meters high and the other is 275 meters high.

Do you believe it? NEOM’s design team envisioned Epicon as a gateway to the future, offering people an opportunity to escape reality. Here, guests and residents will have the opportunity to relax at the beach club and enjoy wellness treatments at the spa.
