Australia makes the second anti-dumping review final ruling on China-related float glass

On October 7, 2021, the Australian Anti-dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2021/116, stating that the Acting Minister of Industry and Technology of Australia passed the Australian Anti-dumping Commission’s inspection of float glass (Clear float glass) and the second anti-dumping sunset review negative final ruling on Thailand’s float glass with processed edges (rough edges and seam edges excluding sharp edges) with a thickness of 3 mm to 12 mm. The second anti-dumping sunset review affirmative final ruling on float glass originating in Indonesia with a thickness of 3-12 mm, continues to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the case in Indonesia. The tentative dumping duty rate is as follows: Indonesian exporter PT Muliaglass is 0, PT Asahimas Flat Glass Tbk accounted for 15.3%, and Indonesia's other exporters accounted for 28.3%.

On April 19, 2010, at the request of CSR Viridian Limited, a domestic company in Australia, Australia initiated an anti-dumping investigation on float glass originating in China, Indonesia, and Thailand.

On December 20, 2010, Australia made a negative final ruling on the case and therefore decided to terminate the anti-dumping investigation against the above-mentioned countries.

On March 21, 2011, Australia revoked its decision to terminate the anti-dumping investigation of the case and initiated the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on float glass originating in China, Indonesia, and Thailand.

On February 22, 2016, Australia initiated the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation against float glass originating in China, Indonesia, and Thailand.

On September 8, 2016, Australia made an affirmative final ruling on the case and decided to continue to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the above-mentioned countries. The specific tax rates are as follows: China is 16.2% (except Xinyi Ultra-thin Glass Co., Ltd.), Indonesia is 0.3% ~28.3%, Thailand is 8.8%~25.8%.

On October 18, 2016, Australia began to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the above-mentioned countries, which will be valid until October 17, 2021.

On March 7, 2019, Australia made a final anti-circumvention ruling on float glass with processed edges (rough edges and seam edges other than sharp edges) originating in Thailand with a thickness of 3mm~12mm, and a 25.8% anti-dumping was imposed.

On February 2, 20212, Australia made 3-12mm thick float glass originating in China and Indonesia and 3mm-12mm thick processed edges for Thailand (rough edges and seam edges except for sharp edges) Float Glass conducts the second anti-dumping sunset review case investigation. Chinese company Xinyi Ultra-thin Glass Dongguan Co., Ltd. is not within the scope of the investigation.
